Cahoon Plantation Golf Course is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Cahoon Plantation first opened for play in 1999. The course was designed by Ault, Clark & Associates
At one time, this semi-private golf facility offered three nine hole courses that were played in three eighteen hole combinations, as well as a separate eighteen hole pitch-n-putt course. The facility was consolidated in the 2000's and the best 18 hole combination remains today as The Cahoon Plantation Golf Course.
The layout of the nines is very reminiscent of a Scottish-links course. There are few trees on the premises. More than 2 million tons of earth were moved to create unique elevation changes on the course. There are many shared greens, stacked bunkers and virtually no out-of-bounds, which in itself, is Scottish in design. This is a long course, which is challenging as well as fair. Many of the large greens are multi-tiered.
#15 is considered to be Cahoon Plantation's premier par 3. The green is well protected by bunkers and a small pond but there is still an opportunity for a birdie, which will probably be your last chance for one before you face the difficult closing stretch of holes.
Black tees: par-72, 6,456 yards, 71.4 / 130
White tees: par-72, 5,871 yards, 68.8 / 123
Red tees: par-72, 4,929 yards, 69.4 / 120
The course permanently closed November 4, 2018 without prior warning.

Don't like mandatory cart rule plus 90 degree rule when dry - both slow down the pace. Greens in good condition, but too many unrepaired ball marks - education needed for golfers! Range balls expensive.
